From Fabric to Finance: Building Enterprise-Grade Planning & Forecasting on Microsoft Fabric

Description

Microsoft Fabric has fundamentally changed how enterprises store, model, and analyze data — but many organizations still struggle to turn that data into real-time operational and financial decisions. In this session, we will explore how to design an enterprise-grade planning and forecasting architecture natively on Microsoft Fabric, using Azure SQL, Power BI, and modern data pipelines to enable real-time write-back, scenario modeling, and governed collaboration across large organizations.

Attendees will learn how to:

  1. Over 1M/1Hr IloT events, 30K Tags,
from 40 factories are streamed in real
    time with sub second latency.
  2. IloT events are enriched in-motion with
the asset meta data and asset hierarchy,
providing clean and curated data for
    consumption.
  3. Build, train and score ML models
in real time, persisting the scored
    data in OneLake.
  4. Real time dashboard of all factories with
ability to easily drill down from all
factories view to a single asset details.
  5. Contextualization data on the lIOT
    devices is collected from OPCUA
    library daily via MQTT.
  6. Rich BI reports with detailed views on
    factories production, efficiency and
    maintenance.
  7. Enriched data is aggregated with hourly
and daily views per station and factory.
  8. Factory inventory, shift details,
component cost, etc. is synced to
OneLake via Data Factory for data
    enrichment and contextualization.
  9. Notify on site techs in response to live
    indications from the factory floor.
  10. Use rich KQL queries for fast, direct, adhoc analytics.
